Nominations for 2025-2026 Board Open

Nominations for the 2025-2026 chapter board are now open! Nominations will be announced at March luncheon, elections held at the May luncheon, and officer installation at June luncheon. We also have numerous chair and committee positions open.

  • Seminar (and committee for 2026 seminar) – Responsible for the planning and running of educational seminars and/or Tri-Chapter luncheon. This position involves establishing a committee to assist with event planning, sourcing topic ideas and speakers, confirming venues and event details, and assisting with obtaining continuing education approval for education sessions. Work with executive board on budgets and approvals for events.
  • Hospitality – Coordinates the logistics of chapter luncheons, including confirming attendance with luncheon venues, budgets for luncheons, headcounts, and ensuring the logistics of luncheons are handled.
  • Nominations & Elections – The role of the Nominations & Elections Committee Chair is to present and recommend a slate of officers to the chapter membership for consideration as candidates and oversee the nominations/awards for all chapter, region, and international awards.
  • Professional Development – The role of the Professional Development Committee Chair is to be a resource to chapter members seeking designation and/or certification with the IRWA. The Professional Development Committee Chair counsels/mentors individual candidates and liaises with IRWA headquarters in order to determine candidate status.
    • General Roles & Responsibilities:
      • Reports to the President.
      • Provides advice to candidates on various requirements for designation and certification, including timelines.
      • Processes requests for designation and /or certification.
      • Liaises with Education Committee Chair to present required courses.
      • Tracks progress of candidates, follows up with candidates and IRWA headquarters as necessary.
      • Works with IRWA headquarters to identify members whose certification/designation are within one year of requiring renewal; contacts the member to alert them of the impending deadline for re-certification.
      • Mentors incoming committee members.
      • Makes recommendations to the International Professional Development Committee and IRWA headquarters for continuous improvement.
      • Participate in Professional Development Committee Chair Best Practices Professional Development webinar.
  • Public Agency – A representative of a public agency that aims to support right of way individuals employed by public agencies. Conducts outreach to agencies to encourage IRWA involvement and membership. Conducts outreach to public agency individuals to identify education needs and interests, in order to assist with establishing courses or luncheon speakers that meet the needs of public agency members.
    • General Roles & Responsibilities:
      • Identifies and conducts outreach to potential candidates for chapter leadership positions.
      • Announces nominations at chapter membership meetings.
      • Conducts elections for chapter officers at chapter membership meetings.
      • Prepares nomination forms for chapter, regional, and international awards and distribute awards nominations information to chapter, including promotion via newsletter and online presence.
      • Forwards completed nomination forms to each Executive Board Member and committee chair for their review.
      • Arranges a conference call with Executive Board and committee chairs to discuss the nominations and make recommendations and selections for all awards.
      • Prepares ballots when necessary for membership votes.
      • Collects ballots immediately after member voting and determines Project of the Year winner.
      • Coordinates orders for the engraving of plaques for special awards, including past President Award.

      The Nominations and Elections Committee Chair shall be appointed annually by the chapter President.
